Laurie Middleswarth earned first place in the Open Women's Class of the 2024 NC Strongest Man & Woman Competition.
Meet our sponsored athlete Laurie Middleswarth who recently dominated the NC Strongest Women’s Competition! A dedicated member of our community for years, she exemplifies both kindness and discipline. Her relentless determination and unwavering spirit have propelled her to this well-deserved victory, showcasing her strength both inside and outside the arena. We are incredibly proud to support such a remarkable athlete who continues to inspire us all with her achievements and character.
The competition consisted of the following five events that tested the strength and endurance of the participating athletes.
- Maximum repetitions of 165 lbs. log press in 60 seconds. Officer Middleswarth completed five repetitions, earning first place.
- Competitors were timed carrying a 450 lbs. frame for a distance of 50 feet. Officer Middleswarth completed the distance in 10 seconds, earning first place.
- Competitors completed deadlifts with as much weight as possible. Officer Middleswarth lifted 450 lbs., earning second place.
- Competitors completed a race while carrying a 175 lbs. sandbag then a 200 lbs. sandbag while lifting them over several obstacles. Officer Middleswarth completed three bag lifts in 60 seconds, earning first place.
- Competitors carried a 250 lbs. Husafel Stone for maximum distance. Officer Middleswarth carried the stone for approximately 60 feet, earning first place.
